Can I buy boxes and other packing products from 1st Choice Storage?

Many 1st Choice Storage facilities offer a wide variety of boxes and packing supplies. Please check with the location nearest you and the Store Manager will be happy to assist you.

Do you have moving carts available?

Nearly all 1st Choice Storage facilities that have inside units with access through a hallway will maintain an inventory of “push carts” that may be used free of charge. If you find yourself renting an inside unit and need a push cart, please let the Store Manager know and they will be happy to assist you.

Do you have video cameras?

Many 1st Choice Storage facilities use video cameras as a surveillance measure. Cameras are generally located at the point of entry and exit and other areas around the facility. The number of cameras and the type of system that is installed at each facility will vary based on the design of the facility.

Can anybody drive onto this property or do you need a PIN number?

Most of our facilities have an electronic gate system which can only be opened by a security code that is assigned to each individual tenant. The code allows us to monitor who is entering and exiting the facility.

Do I get a lock when I rent a unit?

You can purchase a new lock at your local 1st Choice Storage facility. We offer a variety of sizes and types of locks and recommend purchasing a disc lock to ensure the highest level of security.

Do you offer RV/boat/car/motorcycle parking?

1st Choice Storage offers parking for RVs, boats, cars and motorcycles, but this is not a standard offering at all locations. Find the closest location to see if the service is available. Proof of ownership by title and proof of insurance are required before rental of any space.

What’s the difference between office hours and gate hours?

The office hours are the hours of operation for the property. During these hours the Store Manager will be available to assist you with your storage needs or moving and packing supplies. The gate hours are the hours of the property, and when your unit can be accessed.

What is the difference between an indoor and outdoor unit?

An outdoor unit has access from outside. An indoor unit is within the property and will require you to go inside to access your unit.

What sizes are available and how do I pick my size?

We offer a wide range of sizes to accommodate your needs. Determining the right size is easy with the help of our online size estimator and the help of our Store Managers who are trained to assist you in this process.

When can I get to my belongings?

Our facilities are Open 7 Days a week. Office and access vary by location. Please check with the location nearest you for Office and Access hours and the Store Manager will be happy to assist you.

How much notice must be given when I move out?

We require a 10 day written notice to move out. Full details on the vacating policy will be provided for you at the time of Move-In.

How can I make a payment?

Payments can be automatically deducted from your credit or debit card. Please ask your Store Manager about this feature. Don’t worry about having to mail payments on time or making them in person! You may also make payments through our website.

What forms of payment do you accept?

We accept major credit/debit cards, checks, and cash.

Are there any items that I should not bring to storage?

Store nothing toxic, dead or alive. Also, please store nothing from your kitchen including spices, pet food, bird or deer feed. These attract problems.

How long do I have to sign up for?

We offer month to month leases, meaning no contracts and no commitment.
